Happy Mardi Gras

It’s Fat Tuesday, Mardi Gras, whatever you want to call it.

Back home the last day before Lent is better known as Shrove Tuesday, or more accurately best known as Pancake Day. A day dedicated to pancakes? What could be better? Alas, I won’t get to enjoy my parents’ delicious homemade pancakes given the whole being-in-another-country thing. Maybe next year.

Instead, for today’s celebrations I’m appropriating the Mardi Gras festivities in New Orleans somewhat by having dinner tonight at Central Michel Richard, which promises to have a live jazz band and special New Orleans food and cocktails.

Speaking of New Orleans (the tortured path toward this post’s conclusion is fast approaching, promise), if you’ve got some spare time, why not give a read over the handful of interviews that I’ve done over dinner in the Big Easy?

Happy reading, and happy Mardi Gras!
