In the decade-plus that I’ve been doing Dining With Strangers, I’ve had a handful of interviews that justified splitting into two parts. My May 2015 dinner in Beverly Hills with actor Fred Melamed (A Serious Man, Girls, Curb Your Enthusiasm) and his wife Leslee Spieler Melamed was one of those. Our meal at The Palm lasted several hours, during which Fred talked at length about his fascinating personal and professional lives. Fred will be appearing at the Aero Theatre on Sunday June 23 at 7.30pm to introduce a screening of the Coen Brothers’ movie A Serious Man, in which the pompous “villain” Sy Ableman. He’ll also take audience questions at the event — if you’re in the area I highly recommend going.
