Here’s the 32nd Throwback Thursday article; my June 2011 dinner with DC resident Katelyn Sornik, who told me about her blog that covered life as a vegan. On the blog, New Kid On The Vegan Block, she posted recipes, restaurant reviews and other articles about her life as a vegan. It was an interesting insight to a diet that I didn’t know much about before, and she was fun company. We dined at Founding Farmers, which is still open and remains incredibly popular with tourists and locals alike.
We didn’t stay in touch for long, but it looks like Katelyn eventually stopped writing for her blog. Instead, she moved on to launching her own company Kate Bakes that sold gluten-free energy bars, but that seems to have closed.
