Jane Lynch Wins An Emmy, Creates A Netflix Show

Jane Lynch, featured on this site as the 116th stranger along with her occasional performing partner Kate Flannery, is working on a new Netflix comedy show that’s said to be a modern day take on “The Golden Girls.”

According to Variety, Jane is working on the show alongside singer Cyndi Lauper and Seinfeld writer and comedian Carol Leifer (that’s the three of them above, in a picture lifted from Variety‘s article about the upcoming show). At the Creative Arts Emmys last week, Jane told reporters: “I pitched a show to Netflix and they bought it. I don’t know if I can even tell you, but it’s with Cyndi Lauper, so there! We’ll see.”

At the awards, Jane won the Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series for her role as Sophie Lennon in “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” — a show she talked about when I met her and Kate for lunch in January.

Meanwhile, Kate is currently on the latest season of “Dancing With The Stars.”
