The 40th Throwback Thursday is my December 2011 lunch in the District with Shamia Holloway, who at the time was communications manager for the Capital Area Food Bank. It’s the largest non-profit hunger organization in the DC region — also reaching into Maryland and Virginia — and its goal is to provide nutritious food to those in need while also educating them on healthier eating.
I had a very enjoyable meal with Shamia at Busboys and Poets learning about her organization’s crucial work. We didn’t stay in touch, but it appears that in February 2016 she moved on from the food bank.
