Polyester Fiesta

If you live in England and are looking for a fun way to spend a day, check out singer Lorraine Bowen’s Polyester Fiesta and other shows. Her website lists several upcoming performances, and she’s well worth a listen.

I interviewed Lorraine in January 2013, and had a blast. She writes quirky tunes about topics ranging from what goes into a burger to standing in line at the post office. They’re funny, catchy, and she’s charming in person.

By way of hopeful enticement, above is video from after my dinner with Lorraine. We were about to go our separate ways when she spotted a piano with “Play Me!” written on it. So she did, performing her song about cooking a dessert known as crumble.
