Griefcat In The Park

This is short notice, but Griefcat — a fantastic DC-based singer/songwriter duo including former dining stranger Louisa Hall — will be performing a concert outdoors this weekend at Cherry Hill Park in Falls Church, Virginia.

Here’s the relevant blurb from the event’s Facebook page: “On the evening of Saturday, September 19th, lush harmonies and heartfelt lyrics, often with a wink or quirky twist, await you with the brilliant singer/songwriter duo: Griefcat. Griefcat’s songs range from hilarious to sincere with a unique sound akin to Flight of the Conchords, mixed with a little Dolly Parton and an indie flair. Griefcat entertains with music about the trials, joys, and tribulations of modern life.”

General admission tickets are $30 and must be bought at least two hours before the show’s 8pm start time so that they can arrange the socially distanced seating. I’ve seen Griefcat perform before and it’s great entertainment.

If you’d like to learn more about ukulele-playing singer-songwriter Louisa and how she first got into music, check out the 57th dinner interview from May 2014 when I met her for a meal at DC’s Big Bear Cafe.
