Cheryl Kagan would love a private life — but that’s not possible right now.
That’s because she’s the Maryland state senator for district 17, covering Gaithersburg and Rockville. As she told me during a dinner interview, it’s a non-stop job that involves a very public life. That makes it difficult for her to indulge her many hobbies including folk music and Scrabble, or even trying to find a date.
While the idea of being available to the voting public 24/7 might turn some people off, Cheryl stressed that she’s proud to be representing her district and committed to her job.
