Character actor Kurt Fuller has been in countless movies and TV shows — Ghostbusters II, Wayne’s World, Psych, Midnight in Paris, much more — and yet people still come up to him asking, “How do I know you?”
Kurt’s fine with being “that guy” people recognize but can’t quite place, even if it means reciting his resume to strangers in grocery stores. “My career is over when no one wants to take a picture with me,” he told me during the 102nd dinner interview (just after I nearly ruined his sweater with olive oil and vinegar).
In January 2018, we met for Italian food in West Hollywood. Between him jokingly flipping me off for taking too many food photos, we talked about fame, family, typecasting, #MeToo, and the art of finally learning to stop overacting.
