In October 2018, I was fortunate to spend a lengthy, fun lunch in Los Angeles with Donna Lynne Champlin for the 111th interview with a stranger.
Donna Lynee is an actress with an impressive and growing resume, including an extensive stage and Broadway career, a self-produced album, film appearances, and television credits including her role as Paula Proctor on the CW’s musical comedy drama Crazy Ex-Girlfriend.
We covered so much in the interview that it’s one of the rare instances where I needed two parts to report the stranger’s story. You can read part one of my lunch with Donna Lynne here, where she talks about how her discovery of metaphysics helped to shape her acting career.
The second part has Paula sharing how she got started in performing by tap dancing at three years old. She then learned to sing, act, and play piano and flute, using those skills to build a career that’s won her awards and major roles in a host of stage and television productions, including on Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. At the time of the interview, she was in middle of filming the show’s fourth and final season.
