Build Wetlands, Not Walls

New Orleans-based t-shirt company Storyville is getting political.

The company, run by couple Josh and Natalie Harvey, has just launched a new range of t-shirts and tank tops (for adults and children) with the logo “Build Wetlands, Not Walls.”

In an email announcing the new design, Storyville said, “With some help from popular designer Christopher Murphy, we are making a statement. We can agree to disagree on lots of things, but let’s unite on one — this presidential election season, let’s focus on rebuilding Louisiana’s coast. The health and stability of Louisiana’s wetlands are a national defense issue. Without them, we have no protection from hurricanes or climate change. Instead of promising divisive walls, let’s demand that our politicians promise to rebuild our coast.”

I first met Josh and Natalie back in August 2013 for a lunch interview in the Big Easy. They told me about the initial idea that led to Storyville, and the highs and lows of launching a t-shirt business.
