Gary Krist Talks ‘Trespassers at the Golden Gate’

Gary Krist, a New York Times-bestselling writer of historical non-fiction and the 70th stranger I met, will be in DC next week to talk about his latest book. He’ll discuss Trespassers at the Golden Gate: A True Account of Love, Murder, and Madness in Gilded-Age San Francisco at Politics & Prose on Wednesday March 12 at 7pm.

Set in the late 19th century in the city by the Bay, the book promises to tell “the sensational, forgotten true story of a woman who murdered her married lover in Gilded Age San Francisco and the trial that epitomized the city’s transformation from raucous frontier town into modern metropolis.”

At the upcoming free event, Gary will talk about his book with Margaret Talbot, a staff writer for The New Yorker. There’ll also be a question-and-answer session as well as a book signing — see you there!
