For the 107th interview with a stranger, in September 2018, I traveled to Brooklyn for lunch with actor Erick Lopez. At the time, he was well known for his role as Hector in the comedy musical TV show Crazy Ex-Girlfriend.
Over a relaxed meal at a diner, Erick shared how acting wasn’t his main interest in high school, he was more focused on engineering and sports. But a basketball injury sidelined him and he turned to drama classes. Cut to the present day and he’s enjoying growing success in several film and television roles. He talked about starting his acting career, as well as launching a podcast giving advice to aspiring actors.
