Actor, writer and producer Jim Piddock (the second stranger featured on this site) is off to the races after writing the script for an upcoming movie starring Jeremy Irons about the legendary British horse racing trainer Sir Henry Cecil.
Screen Daily broke the news of the production, quoting producers Andrew Berg and John Sachs of Eclipse Films as saying, “A lot of people have tried to make this film but fell short of the mark. Jim Piddock’s script stands out as the perfect balance of drama and action and director Ron Scalpello is a gifted director, visceral, sensitive and extremely hard working and creative. Jeremy was first choice to play Henry and has a genuine love for horses. Jeremy’s decision to join us as a producer has further cemented his passion for this project.”
Jim is a prolific actor and writer, and over the years has either written or performed in a host of television shows and movies, including co-writing the Christoper Guest movies For Your Consideration and Mascots. When we met for dinner in Los Angeles in November 2008 he talked about growing up in England, getting into acting, and making the move to America soon after.
